He is one of the most sought after actors in the industry today. Suniel Shetty, who started his career with action films, seems to have settled for comic roles. Ever since his performance in the Priyadarshan mega hit Hera Pheri, producers have been keen to make the most of his comic talent. Now, all set to woo the audiences with his next release One Two Three, TWF correspondent Shaikh Jelani catches up with the maverick actor about his choice of film and more

You seem to be on a spree of doing comedy films, any particular reason for that?
Well, I guess audiences are really loving my comic act and that’s why you can see me mostly in comic roles. Moreover, the fact that comedies turn out to be family entertainers further excites me to do such roles.

Could tell us more about your role in the film One Two Three ?
I play a simple and sincere marketing executive in the film. My honesty becomes an irritating factor for my friends. It's a fun loving role and the fact that all the characters share the same name makes the film all the more funny.

Will you be doing any action films in the coming time?
Actually, the fact is that I don't sign on new projects merely for the fact that they belong to a particular genre. For me, if any script sounds interesting, irrespective of the genre it belongs to, I will sign it without thinking twice. I did Shootout At Lokhandwala, an out-an-out action film, because I loved the role that was given to me. But, yes the fact is that at the moment I'm enjoying comedy films since they are family entertainers.

Your production house PopKorn Entertainment is getting active on the film production. What kind of films are you coming out with?
Well, PopKorn is surely getting aggressive on the production front and we have a three film deal with Balaji Telefilms. At the moment one of these films Mission Istanbul is in the production stage and we are planning to release it in the latter part of this year. Apart from that we are looking at newer tie ups and plans are in place to produce more films this year.

Lastly, coming back to your films we heard that Hera Pheri 4 is also in the making. Could you tell us how its going to be different from the earlier series?
Well, it can't really be that different. For sure it will be a laugh riot and we are all excited about the project
