Bong bombshell Tanushree Dutta hasn't made waves in the industry
yet. But her kitty reveals that she is all set to climb the
ladder in 2007. Recently, she was seen in 'Bhagam Bhag'. She
is also in Vishram Sawant's 'Risk' opposite Sushmita Sen's ex-boyfriend
Randeep Hooda. Excerpts from an interview by TWF correspondent
Vickey Lalwani.
It was surprising to see a glam actress like you as a lead
in Risk?
Well, Vishram Sawant (director) was looking for someone who
could deliver in three departments- oomph, dance and acting.
There's this very colourful dance number Hichki picturised on
me. Vishram met me and figured out that I would fit the bill.
How was it working with Vinod Khanna in Risk?
I had no scene with Vinodji, and hence didn't meet him even
once on the set. The other day when I was shooting with Rahul
Khanna for 'Raqeeb', he told me that how come I wasn't telling
him that I had worked with his dad. I took a minute to connect
with what he was saying. I wish I had at least one scene with
Vinodji, it would have been my honour to share screen space
with him. I had almost all my scenes with Randeep Hooda.
Randeep is not easy to befriend?
Well, he is polite and down to earth person. But yes, he keeps
to himself and doesn't talk much.
You recently did a sizzling number in 'Bhagam Bhag'. How
will you compare Randeep Hooda ('Risk') with Akshay Kumar
and Govinda ('Bhagam Bhag')?
Personally, I haven't known anyone. But professionally all
of them were very supportive of a new actress like me. They
are very organised, conduct themselves with a lot of dignity,
lot of honour and very, very hard working.
What are your forthcoming films?
Starting with 'Bhagam Bhag', then 'Risk', 'Good Boy Bad Boy',
'Rakeeb', 'Speed' and 'Dhol' with Priyan Sir.
Are you out of Abbas Mustan's 'Mr Fraud' (Sanjay Dutt,
Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu)?
Yes, I am not doing that film.
Why? You even shot for it, plus you did a mere song in
Abbas Mustan's directorial '36, China Town' simply because
they had promised you their next film?
You are partially right. I did 36, China Town for that reason.
But I didn't shoot for 'Mr Fraud'. We parted ways about 15
days before I went on the set. When they finished the script,
my character didn't turn out to be somebody who had much to
do. Plus, Bipasha has a double role in that film. In fact,
Abbas-Mustan themselves told me that they don't want to give
me a raw deal. So, we had a long meeting and the outcome was
that I was not doing the film. They was no animosity and I
was told not to return the signing amount. Hopefully, we'll
work together in future.
Were you disappointed?
Yes, I was. A film with Sanju and Ajay would have been an
asset to my career.
Heard you had a traumatic experience in Bangkok when you
went for a massage in a parlour?
Please don't remind me of that! We had a very hectic schedule
and I was physically exhausted. I thought that a massage would
freshen me up. That girl who gave me the massage was very
tiny in frame but very, very strong. I almost passed out.
I hurriedly paid and almost ran out of the parlour.
Your name has appeared in a Porn Escort Web Site.Your
reaction..
It's very unfortunate. But there are so many websites who
misuse pictures of actresses and women in media just to promote
their web site for no rhyme and reason. I think the best solution
that I could figure out is to send them a legal notice. I
am talking to my legal advisors regarding them.
Which are your forthcoming films?
Harry Baweja's 'Speed', Raj Kanwar's 'Raqeeb', Subhash Ghai's
'Good Boy Bad Boy' and Priyadarshan's next.
You are back with Aditya Dutt (director of 'Aashiq Banaya
Aapne' which had you as the heroine) who had left you for
Geeta Basra (heroine of his other film 'Dil Diya Hai')?
Aisa kuch bhi nahin hai. There have been too many speculations
about me. Every now and then, I am being linked up with someone
these days. I am still very much single. Personal life will
come, but later. On date, I don't have time for it.
But you are back in touch with him?
Well, sometimes he gets busy with his work and other times,
I get busy. There's nothing like we had disconnected.
Buzz is, he is signing you up for his next film?
We are going to work again, but I haven't signed anything
with him yet.
